Medical Disclaimer
The content on this website is educational and is not medical advice. Watching a video, reading a blog post, browsing the FAQ, or following anyone on social media does not create a patient-physician relationship with Dr. Ford Brewer, PrevMed Health, or any individual clinician. This page explains what we share, what we don't, and what to do if you have a real medical concern.
1. Educational Use Only
All content published on this Site — including blog posts, video transcripts, FAQ answers, Dr. Brewer's YouTube channel content (linked from this Site), product descriptions, and any downloadable materials — is provided for general educational purposes only. It is intended to help readers and viewers understand topics in preventive medicine, cardiovascular risk, metabolic health, and related areas.
Educational content is not a substitute for personalized advice from a licensed healthcare provider who knows your full medical history, current medications, lab values, family history, and individual circumstances. Two patients with apparently similar symptoms or risk factors can warrant very different recommendations.
2. No Patient-Physician Relationship via Site Content
Using this website, commenting on a post, sending us an email, or submitting a contact form does not establish a doctor-patient relationship with Dr. Ford Brewer or any other PrevMed Health clinician. A clinical patient-physician relationship exists only after:
- You have formally enrolled in one of PrevMed Health's clinical telemedicine programs (e.g., HeartReveal, Clinical Programs), and
- You have been accepted as a patient, completed any required intake forms and informed-consent documents, and had at least one scheduled clinical encounter with a licensed clinician.
Reading content here, watching a YouTube video, or asking a question on social media is not the same as being a patient.
3. Always Consult Your Own Healthcare Provider
Before starting or stopping any medication, beginning or changing a supplement, undertaking a new exercise program, or making any significant change based on something you saw or read here, talk to a healthcare provider who knows you. This is especially important if:
- You take prescription medication.
- You have a chronic condition (cardiovascular disease, diabetes, kidney disease, autoimmune disorder, etc.).
- You are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or nursing.
- You are under 18 years of age.
- You have a history of bleeding or clotting disorders.
4. Medical Emergencies
This website is not for medical emergencies. Do not use this site, our contact forms, social media, or any other channel to communicate an urgent or life-threatening situation. If you believe you are having a medical emergency:
- In the United States: call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
- Outside the United States: call your local emergency number.
Common emergencies include — but are not limited to — chest pain or pressure, shortness of breath, sudden severe headache, weakness or numbness on one side of the body, difficulty speaking, severe abdominal pain, signs of stroke, and thoughts of harming yourself or others.
5. Clinical Telemedicine Services Are Separate
PrevMed Health offers clinical telemedicine services through formal enrollment (see HeartReveal for our advanced screening or Clinical Programs for ongoing care). Those services are real clinical care: they involve a licensed clinician, structured intake, lab work, individualized review, and follow-up. They are entirely separate from the educational content on this website.
To access clinical care, you must enroll formally through one of the above programs. Educational content here may help you decide whether enrollment makes sense for you — but reading is not the same as receiving care.
6. Supplements and Products
Supplements sold through our Shop are dietary supplements. Statements about them have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Consult your healthcare provider before adding any supplement to your regimen, particularly if you take prescription medication or have a medical condition.
7. Third-Party Content and Guests
From time to time, content on this site or Dr. Brewer's YouTube channel may include guest experts, references to outside research, or links to third-party material. Any opinions expressed by guests are their own and do not necessarily reflect the views of PrevMed Health. References to outside research are provided for context; we are not responsible for the accuracy or completeness of third-party sources.
8. Changes to This Disclaimer
We may update this Medical Disclaimer as our content and services evolve. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after a change indicates acceptance of the updated disclaimer.
