Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies the PrevMed Health website uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. For broader privacy practices — including how we handle personal and health information — see our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They allow the site to remember things about you between page loads or between visits — for example, that you've already accepted a notice, or what's in your shopping cart. Cookies can be set by the site itself ("first-party cookies") or by third-party services embedded in the site ("third-party cookies").
Similar technologies — like local storage, session storage, and pixel tags — can do many of the same things as cookies. Where this policy refers to "cookies," it generally covers those similar technologies as well.
2. Cookies We Use
First-party cookies (set by prevmedhealth.com)
For privacy-friendly traffic measurement we use Fathom Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not build personal profiles — it runs on every visit and needs no consent.
With your consent, we also use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_<id>) that distinguish visitors and remember session activity, typically expiring after up to two years. These cookies are set only after you click “Accept” on our cookie banner — if you decline, Google Analytics is never loaded and no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice any time (see “How to Manage Cookies” below). Google Analytics cookies are governed by Google’s Cookie Policy.
Cookies set by the Shopify storefront
When you visit our shop page, the Shopify Buy Button widget loads from Shopify's content delivery network and may set cookies on the Shopify storefront domain (currently kciwau-13.myshopify.com, and after launch shop.prevmedhealth.com). These cookies are necessary for the shopping cart to function — they remember what you've added to your cart and keep your session active during checkout. Shopify is the data controller for these cookies; their use is governed by Shopify's Cookie Policy.
Cookies set by embedded video providers
If you watch a YouTube video embedded on this site, YouTube may set cookies in your browser when the video loads. We use the privacy-enhanced YouTube embed mode (youtube-nocookie.com) where possible, which delays cookie-setting until you interact with the video. YouTube's cookies are governed by Google's Privacy & Terms.
3. How to Manage Cookies
You can accept or decline analytics cookies using the banner shown on your first visit. To change your decision at any time, use Cookie preferences — declining stops Google Analytics from loading and withdraws your consent.
Most web browsers let you control cookies through the browser's privacy settings. You can typically:
- Block all cookies, including necessary ones (note: shopping cart functionality on the Shopify storefront will not work without cookies).
- Block third-party cookies only.
- Delete existing cookies.
- Set the browser to alert you whenever a site tries to set a cookie.
For browser-specific instructions, see:
4. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers offer "Do Not Track" (DNT) and "Global Privacy Control" (GPC) signals. Because we do not engage in cross-site behavioral advertising or sell personal information, there is currently no targeting activity for these signals to disable. We treat GPC signals as a request not to share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, consistent with applicable California law.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy if our use of cookies changes (for example, if we add an embedded scheduling widget that sets cookies). The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
